Complass
The AI inventory: the foundation for the AI Act in your company
The customer asks which AI systems your company uses and how they are classified. IT knows of three, sales uses two more, and since the last update an algorithm has been sorting applications in the applicant tracking system. Nobody has a complete list.
The AI Act (EU) 2024/1689 as amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 ties almost every obligation to the individual AI system and to the company's role in relation to it. It does not prescribe a register, but without an inventory nothing can be classified and no obligation assigned.
The whitepaper shows what a good entry contains, how to classify each system in a guided and reasoned way and how to evidence AI literacy under Art. 4, transparency under Art. 50 and the deployer obligations under Articles 26 and 27 per system. With a 7-step plan, a practice example and a checklist.
Each implementation chapter includes a short "Implementation in Complass" box (decision W11); only features already live are named.
