The IEC 62443 series describes how industrial automation and control systems are secured – with a clear split of roles between asset owner, integrator or service provider, and product supplier.
The whitepaper maps the relevant parts of the series to each role (2-1, 2-4, 3-2, 3-3, 4-1, 4-2), explains zones, conduits and security levels in plain language, shows how an existing ISMS under ISO/IEC 27001 makes implementation easier, and closes with a 10-step plan. Standard texts are not quoted but paraphrased with a clause reference.
